Set Up A Welfare Into Work Program
by Andrew on January 14, 2009

In Petaluma, California there is a movement of outreach to the community. As a way to alleviate fear of your own economic woes, reach into your community doing what you love to do and help someone else less fortunate than yourself. Specifically what we are doing is teaming up to help women in the local “Welfare to Work” program feel more confident in their ability to get jobs. A life coach, hair stylist and image consultant have combined forces to offer motivated women in the program three 1-hour sessions (coaching, fashion/makeup, new haircut). The times call for outreach and community…this is our way to give back doing work we love to do. We hope the effort will inspire others to do the same.
